The best meals in Calabria don’t come with a menu. They come with a conversation, a shared plate and a nod of approval from the cook. Take our peppers. They’re grown in the hills outside Altomonte, hung to dry in a centuries-old hotel, and then sent to us, where we bring them back to life with olive oil pressed at our grove in Calabria. This is dinner at Calabrese — every ingredient, every dish, every bite has a story.
